After spending a year travelling around the world, visiting 12 different countries, Albee then spent three years running luxury safari camps in Africa. First of all in Botswana, where she ran Jack’s & San Camp in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans (which are the size of Switzerland, but with no one out there!), then Tongabezi near Livingstone and also Sausage Tree Camp on the Lower Zambezi, both in Zambia.

Following her time in Africa running camps, Albee moved to the UK to manage the Africa team for a large travel company which she did for 13 years before setting set up the Africa department for a new start-up  travel company where she spent the next four & a half years.

Albee spends as many of her holidays as possible in Africa, especially in South Africa, where she owns a house in Plettenberg Bay and as much time as possible researching new areas in Africa. Albee’s loves photography, making silver jewellery and baking.

Albee was on the board of ATTA (African Travel & Tourism Association) for eight years and has also been a judge of The Good Safari Guide, since its inception.

Albee's personal favourites:

Doing a five day canoeing safari in Zimbabwe at Mana Pools; walking with African Elephants through the Okavango Delta at Abu Camp; sky diving over Plettenberg Bay; riding an ostrich in Oudtshoorn; whale watching from Bom Bom Island; doing a five day wildlife photography course in Chobe, with Guts Swanepoel; releasing turtles at North Island in the Seychelles; communicating with chimpanzees on Ngamba Island in Uganda; stroking a three meter honeycomb eel whilst diving from Rocktail Bay;  watching wrestling at Les Paletuviers in Toubacouta, Senegal and quad biking across the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans to sleep out under the stars on Kubu Island.
