Alternatively there’s a hot air balloon ride to get a bird’s eye view of mountains, sandy dunes, verdant plains and glistening lakes of Rajasthan. India offers some exciting alternative forms of transport making your journey extremely enjoyable.

Rajasthan is known as the Land of Kings, sprinkled with intricate palaces, ancient forts and a vibrant culture. From the golden sand dunes of the Thar Desert, to the royal Bengal tigers of Ranthambhore, Rajasthan is as vibrant and varied as its heritage and culture.

As such, the number of great palaces and capital cities is unusually high. Its opulent royal residences, battle-scarred forts, historic cities and busy bazaars will inspire even the most jaded of travelers.

Udaipur is one of the most famous cities in Rajasthan, known as the “Venice of The East” primarily for its picturesque lakes and beautiful scenery. It is the city of Indian Royals and carries with it rich tradition, culture and heritage. However, many people are unaware of the fact that besides culture, palaces and scenery, Udaipur is also home to a number of timeless and rare beauties like the Rolls Royce, Buick, Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac and more.

You will be surprised to know that all these cars are serviced, well-maintained and regularly fueled by their owners. They are fully functional and you can still drive them today!

For a truly classic memory you can arrange a transfer in one of these elegant cars to the extraordinarily beautiful Taj Lake Palace that appears like a jeweled lotus seemingly afloat on the soft and shimmering waters of Lake Pichola.

If you wish to spend more time, enjoy a vintage car drive through the city before moving to the next fabulous destination in Rajasthan. You can also drive up to the Fatehgarh Palace and enjoy a private candle lit dinner and take in the amazing views down into Udaipur and the Lake Palace.

For guests who really enjoy these vintage cars, you can visit a spectacular vintage and classic car collection housed in the Mewar State Motor Garage. This is a stylish garage with a rich blend of history, royalty and culture. An original Shell petrol pump also exists on the premises. It is fully functional even to this day. The motor garage was built in an era when cars were used only by the Maharajas of Mewar.

Similarly the blue city of Jodhpur famous for its majestic Mehrangarh Fort also has an exquisite collection of vintage cars. Don’t forget to get a glimpse of the Silver Ghost Rolls Royce which belongs to the royal family and can be seen at the Umaid Bhavan Palace.
