For those wanting exclusivity, Naibor offers the perfect solution! Set deep in the heart of the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, Naibor is hidden in a grove of woodland on the Talek River. The views are wonderful and wildlife settles all around you.
Little Nairbor's two suites are perfect for two groups of friends travelling together or for a family of four or five. The two-bedroomed suites offer their own private vehicle and guide, as well as private dining just for you!
Naibor is private yet situated in Kenya's prime safari destination. Here one can witness the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra (as well as the predators that follow them) as well as the resident wildlife that includes the Big 5, giraffe, hyena, over 450 species of bird and much more. This results in unrivalled game viewing, year-round.
The camp has a striking design that blends contemporary safari style and comfort with the muted natural colours of the bush. The guest tents are light and spacious with pale canvas and king-sized beds, en suites, soft quilts, and huge comfortable sofas that are perfectly positioned for both amazing views and complete privacy.
There are three separate camps positioned nearby but apart from each other, so that each is intimate and both Little Naibor and Naibor Wilderness could be taken on a private basis if required.
The Main Naibor camp has seven tents secreted amongst the trees of the riverine forest so that each suite feels completely private and immersed within the surrounds. They all have cool verandahs under the shade of the trees, en suite bathrooms with flush toilets and safari showers.
Private dining within your guest tents can be arranged and is a wonderful way to spend a peaceful evening overlooking the river.
The communal spaces include the mess tent and lounge which have comfortable sofas and chairs as well as generous soft floor cushions. There is a collection of books and you can wait in the lounge and enjoy a complementary head and neck massage whilst awaiting dinner. Dinner itself is usually served in the dining tent overlooking a bend of the river where the hippo pod bathe below. The main camp also houses the boutique selling a range of beautiful Maasai jewellery, and the spa.
Little Naibor’s two luxurious tented suites blend effortlessly with the surrounding riverine forest. This is the ideal option for a family safari, or a group travelling together, that would like to take the camp privately. Equally, individual suites can be booked and the main camp’s facilities used.
Each tented suite comprises two double or twin rooms with an interconnecting lounge and dining area so is perfect for families. Each room in the suite has its own spacious en suite, too! There is a private bar and firepit set up for each tent along the Talek River which affords complete privacy and the most exquisite views, whilst you are taken care of by the attentive and dedicated staff.
Nairbor Wilderness has just three, luxurious double tents and a dedicated team of staff to attend your every need. The private mess tent has soft furnishings and breath taking views over the plains. It has a private game drive vehicle for up to six guests.
It is possible to make use of the main camp’s facilities if you wish, or to enjoy the seclusion of your own private camp in the bush.
Yes, children over 8 years old are welcome, though it may be possible to accommodate younger children on request. Children must be 12 years old to partake in walking safaris. The camp will provide early evening meals for children and can also arrange (in advance) a child-minding service.
Naibor Camps take their responsibilities to conservation and local people very seriously, and involves local communities in the preservation of their wildlife and environment. Their goal is to enable the rural populations to benefit from their natural resources in a sustainable and non-destructive way, to better care for their families and improve their standard of living.
Naibor Camps recruits staff whenever possible from the nearby community. In addition, the community receives a direct contribution from a bed-night levy applied to accommodation costs, which is then dedicated to social development projects in the community. Some projects supported by this levy and other additional donations include:
The most wonderful thing about the Masai Mara is that there is stunning wildlife viewing all year round. The annual wildebeest migration passes through the area between July and November, so this is a particularly good time. Long rains arrive in April / May and short rains fall in November. The hottest months tend to be March and October with average maximum temperatures of 32°C.
Naibor Camps are positioned along the Talek River in the heart of the Masai Mara and just twenty minutes’ game drive to the nearest wildebeest river crossing. One can access the camp easily via regular a scheduled flight from Nairobi (40 minutes), Samburu, Lewa or Nanyuki to the camp’s nearest airstrip. It is also possible to charter a private flight.
