The drier periods from June to September and December to February generally offer more favourable trekking conditions, with clearer trails and easier hiking. The wetter months from March to May and October to November bring denser vegetation and more challenging terrain underfoot, but also fewer visitors and a more atmospheric forest environment.

What should I wear when gorilla trekking?

How to get to Volcanoes National Park?
International flights arrive into Kigali International Airport, followed by a private road transfer of approximately two and a half to three hours to reach Volcanoes National Park. Depending on flight arrival times, an overnight stay in Kigali may be required before continuing onwards to the park.
