Nuestra Senora de La Paz – to give it its full title – is the seat of government of Bolivia and is officially the highest capital city in the world. The air is thin at this altitude and those with money live at the lowest elevations at around 3,000 metres above sea level, whilst the airport and the higher reaches of the city stretch up to 4,000 metres.
Stroll its small but quaint historic centre and then head to Sagarnaga Street for the intriguing witches market, where ancient Indian traditions and superstitions are used to form remedies and good luck charms, or take a short drive from the city to the spectacular rock formations of the Moon Valley.
‘Greetings. this has turned out to be a paradise in so many ways....so a big thank you from us.
Wonderful support from your company over here....we were met at the airport (with flowers!!!!!) and introduced to our personal guide who is fabulous. Can't get over the attention to detail ....cool flannels, chilled water, fresh juice on arrival, bag full of thoughtful goodies for our trip, wonderful rooms with bathrooms bigger than our bedroom at home(!) and we were upgraded to a suite and as I write we are listening to tropical birdsong as we look out over the lagoon from our balcony. Wow!!!!!
I could go on but I'll spare you.
Thanks a million
Judy and Mike’
