Where is Sisindu T Located?

Located only 10 kilometres from the historic city of Galle, Sisindu T enjoys a commanding position in the middle of Pokkuluwa Kanda Estate on Sri Lanka’s south coast. Colombo’s international airport is two and a half hours’ drive away and you are also just 15 minutes away from all the hustle and bustle along the beautiful beaches.

What sort of accommodation is available at Sisindu T?

Designed by one of Sri Lanka’s leading architects, Sisindu T consists of a Master Suite with living area, and a stunning open-air bathroom with bathtub, two showers and vanity units, as well as four further spacious double bedrooms with en-suite facilities. There is also a self-contained Jungle Room in the garden with two double beds, en-suite shower, and a massage room, which could be used as a family room or a fun outhouse for kids. Within these six rooms, the villa can comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests.  

At the heart of the villa, you will find a gorgeous open-plan kitchen surrounded by lavish living and dining areas affording extensive 360-degree views of the surrounding plantation and jungle. There is also a roof terrace, which is ideal for sunset drinks, and numerous other areas in and around the villa that make up intimate sanctuaries for chilling out. If you wish to plan a fun movie evening, there is an air-conditioned TV room with large lounging sofas.

In the garden, there is a stunning L-shaped infinity pool with a deck equipped with loungers and parasols. The villa is equipped with Wi-Fi and a Sonos music system, and there are 7 staff members available round-the-clock to ensure all your needs are expertly catered for.

What activities are available in the area of Sisindu T?

Sri Lanka’s South Coast offers an incredible array of places and experiences making it one of the must-visit regions. For those who wish to discover the natural and cultural treasures, there is plenty to do around the estate including:

  • On and around the estate - Wake up to the soothing calls of exotic birds and peacocks, and to whooping of monkeys playing in the trees and spend your days enjoying Yoga and meditation sessions in the peaceful garden, sipping on steaming cups of fresh Ceylon tea, lounging by the swimming pool, taking leisurely walks through the lush plantation, and learning the secrets of Sri Lankan cuisine from your private chef; life at Sisindu T is absolutely idyllic. For a more immersive local experience, meaningful philanthropic engagement can be arranged at a nearby village school or a street dog veterinary care and treatment not-for-profit hospital near Galle.
  • On the coast - The famous beaches near Galle are just a 15 minutes’ drive away from Sisindu T and the villa staff can plan a lovely beach picnic for you. If you wish to spend an entire day on the beach, there are various beach clubs that can be booked as well as excellent restaurants and bars. Sri Lanka attracts surfers from all over the globe. There are incredible spots all along the coastline that offer amazing waves and breaks for surfers of all levels and skills. There are various surfing centres 30 minutes to an hour’s drive away where one could indulge in independent or guided surfing. Also, Sri Lanka is one of the best places in Asia for whale watching. From Orcas to mammoth Blue Whales, these majestic creatures can be seen along the South Coast between December and March. One could take faster and shorter speedboat excursions or go on a much slower and longer sailing trips by a private yacht. The longer trips can also take in remote parts along the coast that offer opportunities for stand-up paddle boarding and sea swimming.
  • Old Dutch Fort at Galle - One of the country’s finest cultural and historical highlights, this UNESCO World Heritage Site remains one of the largest colonial fortresses in Asia. Filled with old mansions, chic boutiques and art galleries, and amazing restaurants and cafes, Galle Fort is best explored on foot. Watching the sunset from the ramparts and taking a leisurely stroll leading up to the old lighthouse are just magical.
  • Cycling - The pristine countryside around Galle lends itself beautifully to leisurely cycling trips passing laidback villages, lush paddy fields and orchards. From an easy hour long to more challenging 2.5 to 3-hour long routes are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels and are a perfect way to mingle with the locals and discover the traditional way of life.

Does Sisindu T cater for families with young children?

Children of all ages are welcome at Sisindu T, and in fact Sri Lanka is one of the most popular family holiday destinations in Asia. Baby cots, highchairs and babysitting and monitoring services can be arranged with prior notice and the villa’s expert chef can cater to all types of dietary requirements.  

When is the best time to visit Sisindu T?

For a relatively small island the weather in Sri Lanka can vary quite a bit throughout the year. The best time to visit Sisindu T is typically between late November and April, when the weather is dry and pleasant, making it an ideal destination for multigenerational family holidays over Christmas and New Year.
