Sian grew up in Uganda, where she was introduced to safaris at a young age with her parents arranging family safaris and travelling around East Africa at every chance available!
They spent many holidays searching for game in the various National Parks, fishing on the Nile River, camping in remote locations and hiking including extinct and active volcanoes in the area. Sian is sure this is where her love of Africa and travel emanated from.
Sian studied hospitality and tourism management in South Africa, UK and Switzerland, and then worked for a five-star ski resort in the Swiss mountains. Returning to Africa, she was fortunate enough to be offered a position assisting her parents in their safari company in Uganda. Here she gained a wealth of experience of the safari industry and arranging safaris. Knowing this was the direction in which she would like to continue, Sian was delighted to join the Explorations Company to bring her first-hand knowledge of Africa to help our clients on their own extraordinary safaris.
